The Round Tower opened for tours for 2 months of the year (August and September) for the first time in 30 years!

Sonja and I went on one of the first tours and spent a really informative 45 minutes having a walk up the steps to the top of the tower for some magnificent views out over the Castle and over Windsor and Eton. The tour is only open to the public for these 2 months as this is a period when the Queen is not in residence – the importance of this is that once up in the tower you get a view out over her private apartments, and apparently she does not want us staring into her bathroom windows!

For an opportunity to see even more of this fascinating building I recommend you think about doing this tour.
